Shreve United Methodist Church supports missions on a local, national and international level. LOCALLY Food Pantry - The Shreve UMC Food Pantry is open Tuesdays from 8:30 - 11:00 AM. We provide emergency assistance for local families in need. For more information, contact Peggy Gray at 330-567-2051, ext. 102. SERVE Meal - Held the third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. A free meal for the church family and community. In addition to providing a free meal, this event provides a time of fellowship for those who might enjoy a meal with others. For more information call the Church Office at 330-567-2051. Local Work Day - Members volunteer to do yard work during our annual Spring Clean Up. For more information, contact Paul McMillen, Gretchen Van Lieu or the Church Office at 330-567-2051. Youth Summer Work Week (Love Out Loud) - Partnering with the Millersburg United Methodist Church youth, our youth and adults work hand in hand on projects, such as roofing, painting, and gardening. This year's project is scheduled for the end of June. For more information, contact Ernie Wolf. Shreve UMC also provides financial support to local nonprofit organizations, including Christian Children's Home, Pregnancy Care Center, Hospice & Palliative Care of Wayne County, Wayne United Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, and People to People Ministries. NATIONALLY We provide financial support to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) which provides emergency assistance in times of crisis to people in the United States. Dennis Heffner INTERNATIONALLY We provide financial support to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) which provides emergency assistance in times of crisis to people in the United States. Special International Missions Projects CUBA Members of Shreve United Methodist Church support the Cuba Connection Ministries. Church members travel to Cuba taking supplies and encouragement. An annual garage sale is held to raise money for special projects in Cuba. AFRICA Members of Shreve United Methodist Church partnering with UMCOR and other churches, will be building a well to provide a source of clean water in Tengecha, Kenya, Africa, as a special 2010 mission project. Members will travel to Africa on this mission.
